Interested in working with children and teaching English in a fun and rewarding way?

Bilingue per Gioco is looking for you then! We are looking for you to run Learn with Mummy Playgroups in different places in Italy, starting from Rome ,Verona and Milan, although I’d happily consider also other locations. They might sound to you like English classes for Italian children, but they aren’t, really, they are a lot more than that!

English teaching experience is not required, nor is teaching experience, in fact this kind of experience might even be a drawback if it holds you back from learning and embracing Bilingue per Gioco’s way of teaching English through Playgroups, it all depends on you. One major novelty is that these Playgroups are for children and parents, so you’ll have to manage a class of children and parents. As you might guess this is not easier than managing children alone, but it is more effective for their learning, and that’s what Playgroups are for.

These are the skills you need to work with Bilingue per Gioco:

  • Genuine love for children, the Playgroups are in general for Preschoolers
  • Ability to play, awe, laugh, smile, have fun. In short, ability to find the child in you and let it free
  • Lack of self consciousness. It goes with the point above, children, at least when they play, are not self conscious
  • Ability and willingness to learn. This approach to teaching English is new in many senses, and you’ll need to be open and willing to learn
  • Tolerance. With this method you won’t get a disciplined group of children listening at you, you’ll get engaged children living an experience with you. That means you’ll have to charm them, not rule them
  • Ability to talk with and engage parents. Involve them in all activities, make them your allies and make sure they play by the rules, they are a key component of your success as a teacher
  • A taste for improvisation. You’ll always know what ‘s your plan for the Playgroup, but at times things might go otherwise, you’ll be open to follow the children’s lead
  • Absolute crystal clear fairness and honesty, Bilingue per Gioco is built on trust among all parties. There is always room to discuss different points of view, but no room for cheating
  • Longer term commitment and an interest in doing this for some time, not just a few months
  • Native or native-like command of the English language

And this is what Bilingue per Gioco will give to you in return:

  • Training to learn how to run Bilingue per Gioco’s Playgroups
  • Constant support on the job, you’ll never be on your own
  • A community of teachers and parents with whom you can share your ideas, questions, experiences
  • Absolute crystal clear fairness and honesty, I -Letizia- am putting my name and my face behind Bilingue per Gioco
  • An exciting experience of seeing children have fun with you and love you and parents adore you. The Playgroups are made of people, not rules, and are designed to maximise real, warm communication among all
  • Above market rewards
  • The possibility of bringing your own children with you at the Playgroup, provided that you are confident that this is not an obstacle to managing the Playgroup itself and you have a backup option in case your children are not well (which is bound to happen, unless you have a secret recipe…)
  • Flexibility as to how many hours per week you’d like to work

If all this sounds interesting, get in touch now and we can discuss the details. You can contact me at 320 1156419 or bilinguepergioco@yahoo.com.

A couple of last notes:

  • The Playgroups take place outside school hours, in the afternoon or on Saturday.
  • At present I am setting up the Playgroups in Rome, Verona and Milan if you live in other places though do get in touch, we’ll cover more areas soon
  • If you are looking for a full time job this is probably not the opportunity you were looking for
