Learn with Mummy playgroups are new and unique in Italy so it’s not surprising that requests are constantly coming in, both from families who seek a Learn with Mummy for their children and from children and languages lovers who would like to manage the Playgroups themselves, read comments on Learn with Mummy here.
So here is the idea… Start your own Learn with Mummy! Start them, manage them, run them. Create your dream job out of your passion, a job that would allow you total flexibility as to how much, when, where and with whom you work.
Yeah probably the idea of starting and managing something is quite scary, but it can be done, I did it!, and you can leverage all the experience, network and contacts that Bilingue per Gioco has built over the years.
What are Learn with Mummy playgroups
Learn with Mummy are the English Playgroup for children and parents, much more than just English classes for children, they really are the beginning of a journey and of a new approach to languages that involves the whole family. Learn with Mummy can offer children daily exposure to English in a simple and playful way, that suits each family’s needs and resources.
Each groups normally meets once a week, during the whole school year. During each session the teacher will coordinate activities and everybody will join him or her, children and parents alike.
The opportunity for the franchisee
The demand for this kind of services is high and constantly increasing, parents have by now realised that schools will not teach their kids English, and if they have some knowledge of the language they’d better make the most of it… To date the number of playgroups has been limited by the supply capacity, not by demand, in other words, families are very interested in this type of innovative offer, the problem so far has been finding the right teachers…
To give you an idea of the opportunity:
- Bilingue per Gioco today makes about 60.000 views a month
- More than 1,800 people have registered for the newsletter of Bilingue per Gioco while more than 800 are subscribed to various newsletters that relate specifically to Learn with Mummy in various Italian cities, Bilingue per Gioco also has more than 800 Friends and more than 1700 fans on facebook (increasing day by day), in short, it is an important window for activities related to languages and children.
The franchisee can offer afternoon playgroups, as well as activities to do in schools or in summer camps. It’s not necessary to have a location dedicated to the activities, the location/s can be rented on an hourly basis, minimizing costs.
What’s the deal?
Bilingue per Gioco would provide frachisees the training, materials and support for running and promoting their activities, as well as visibility through the blog and all the contacts created in these last years and, finally, an exclusivity area.
The franchisee agrees instead to pay an entry fee and an annual fee to Bilingue per Gioco, to conduct activities in line with the guidelines and quality standards set by Bilingue per Gioco. The fees will be easily covered by running one Playgroup, the rest is for the teacher to keep! No other major upfront costs are necessary, no need to have a physical location dedicated to these activities for instance.
Next training for franchisees to be held around MAY 2012, so if you are interested you should let me know as soon as possible and we should discuss the details. The training is conducted partly online (for administrative and marketing aspects) and partly in person (for the teaching aspects).
Skills needed
How will the selection take place? I will invite those who are seriously interested to a 1 on 1 call on skype (or a meeting in person if possible), to discuss the individual details, answer your questions, see whether they are suitable for this project, then we’ll take it from there.
What are the skills required:
- Ability to work with children and their parents
- Communicative personality and a true desire to play and sing
- Organizational skills
- A bit of entrepreneurial spirit, the desire to own and manage your time and your future
- Native or native-like command of English (yes in the future we can also start with other languages, but for now it’s English)
If you have been reading so far you probably have all these skills and use them in your daily life and work, now you just need the courage to take the extra step. Oh by the way, with this job you don’t have to work in summer unless you choose to…
